Dr. Duk Hoon Kwak, a professor emeritus of computer science at Korea National Open University, is currently the Chairman of the Society of e-Learning and also the chairman of smart learning forum in Korea. He is one of the most respected experts in the area of e-learning(smart learning) and has written dozens of books and journals in the field.

He was the president of EBS, which is a TV and radio network dedicated to education. Also, he was the president of KERIS (Korea Education & Research Information Service), and is currently the Chair of ISO/IEC JTC1 SC36 Korea which is leading the development of truly international standards of e-Learning.

Dr. Kwak has played a dynamic and crucial role in Korean education as a top-level advisor so far. And Dr. Duk Hoon Kwak is currently the vice chairman of SIGONGmedia. SIGONGmedia is a digital education enterprise which is providing the advanced multimedia educational contents and service platforms in the field of kindergarten and K-12.

Gerard L. Hanley, Ph.D. is the Senior Director for Academic Technology Services for the California State University(CSU), Office of the Chancellorand the Executive Director of the CSU’s MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching).

At the CSU, Gerry oversees the development and implementation of systemwide academic technologies, digital library systems and resources and accessible technology initiativessupporting CSU’s 23 campuses serving about 430,000 students.

At MERLOT, he directs the development and sustainability of MERLOT’s innovative open education resources, services and consortium of higher education institutions, professional societies, corporations and other digital libraries.

He is also the Director of the Center for Usability in Design and Accessibility (CUDA) at CSU, Long Beach. Previously held positions at CSU, Long Beach include Professor of Psychology, Director of Faculty Development and Director of Strategic Planning.
